Garden Wildlife
Take a look at some of the wildlife that visits the gardens of Chislehurst

Our first sighting of a Goldfinch.  It landed on our TV aerial

A greenfinch enjoying wild seed

Unknown variety of Moth - If you know what it is, please email me!

Juicy, Plump Woodpigeon!

One of the infernal woodpigeons that frequent local
gardens constantly. This one thinks he owns the place!

Beautiful Jay in deep thought on our fence
This is my personal favourite bird, a Jay.  They nearly always
appear in pairs.  They are rare visitors to gardens, preferring
woodland generally.  They plant Oak trees inadvertantly, by
forgetting where they have buried acorns.  Jays are slightly
smaller than Magpies, which are very closely related.

Mangy old fox with a gammy leg

This is a mangy old fox that is often seen in the area.  It has
a gammy leg, having been run over and then restored back to
health by a local animal hospital.  It decided to have a sunbathe
in our garden for a while.

Three woodpigeons and a blackbird

This is a bizarre shot of three over-fed woodpigeons and a
female blackbird, which all decided to take rest on our garden
fence.  They are probably waiting for more food.  By the way, if
you're serious about feeding your garden birds, don't just offer
them bread.  Try nuts, fat and seed.  Robins love cheddar cheese.

Some other birds recently seen in my garden in lower Camden:

Green Woodpecker
Greater Spotted Woodpecker
Nuthatch
Long-tailed Tit
Little Egret
Coal Tit
Grey Wagtail
Wren
Goldcrest
Collar Dove
